Raidiant has announced details surrounding the Raidiant Invitational, a women’s Fortnite event open to players in North America and Europe.
Taking place on September 1st, the event organised by the women’s gaming and esports platform will see ten teams competing for a share of a $10,000 (~£7,402) prize pool.
Various content creators and players have received captain’s spots ahead of the tournament, allowing players to register and become part of the ten teams competing within Epic Games‘ free-to-play battle royale title.
Aside from North American and European players being eligible to compete in the tournament, information on its format has yet to be revealed. Two of the team captains for the event are content creators ShesJade and Hvk Reddysh.
Since the Raidiant Invitational was unveiled on August 27th, there has been plenty of interest from women looking for an opportunity to compete.
Launched in 2021, the platform has focused on championing opportunities for women gamers wanting to compete in esports matches. In 2022, it launched a women’s Rocket League tournament that featured a mixture of amateur, professional, and collegiate players.
Women’s Esports in 2025
Women’s esports has continued to thrive in 2025, with various tournament organisers hosting events across several titles. The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) Women’s Invitational at the Esports World Cup peaked at over 490,000 viewers, making it the second most popular women’s esports event of all time.
Fortnite remains a popular title for women’s esports events. In March, The Milk Cup announced its return alongside the launch of The Milk Cup Academy, a training programme for female Fortnite players.
Outside of Fortnite, other esports titles are creating initiatives that provide women with a pathway to compete. March also saw Oracle Red Bull Sim Racing launch an all-female iRacing team in collaboration with e-commerce firm Rokt.
