Riot Games has accidentally revealed the next champion coming to 2XKO, Blitzcrank.

Riot’s highly anticipated 2v2 fighting game has been slow to add champions to its small roster, leading to some concerns from the FGC. It may not be Teemo, like League of Legends fans recently begged for, but the promise of more champions is never a bad thing. Or is it?

Earlier today, Riot Games updated its 2XKO website imagery, but instead of using character art for one of the eight champions on the roster, the FGC caught a glimpse of Blitzcrank. In response to the accidental leak, Riot doubled down and shared the news on the official 2XKO X account.

“Commencing accidental leak protocol,” joked Riot.

No further information was given regarding Blitzcrank’s fighting style or attacks, but we have some speculations based on his moveset in League of Legends. In the MOBA, Blitzcrank’s Rocket Grab fires out his hand to reach faraway enemies and pull them towards him while his Static Shield destroys nearby enemy shields and then deals magic damage, silencing opponents in the process.

FGC Reacts to Blitzcrank Leak

The fighting game community has been complaining about a lack of new information – including the small roster – for a while now. 2XKO was first announced in 2021 (then called Project L) and barely any new champions have been revealed ever since. This became even more concerning when 2XKO announced a closed beta test for September 9th.

While attending Evo 2025, Esports Insider asked Riot developers why there has been a lack of new champions over the past few years. The reason is mainly due to the team having very high standards for its champions – in this sense, it takes a while to feel a champion is ready to enter the fight, especially in a game with a complex 2v2 dynamic.

However, Blitzcrank will be available to play during the closed beta test. More information will be shared on September 2nd ahead of the closed beta.

To nobody’s surprise, the FGC is not very excited about the accidental reveal of the massive humanoid robot. A lot of players expressed frustration with 2XKO only adding the ‘most popular’ League of Legends champions to the fighting game while others just feel there are ‘better’ ones, especially since he’s another popular champion from Zaun.

Of course, only time will tell if The Great Steam Golem is a good addition to 2XKO.
