The upcoming Mega Evolution update coming to Pokémon TCG Pocket is shaping up to be the game’s biggest expansion yet.
DeNa revealed that the update with Mega Altaria, Mega Gyarados, and Mega Blaziken will release sometime in the fall.
Now, data miners have discovered that there is a fair wait until the huge set releases.
According to leaks, the Mega Evolution expansion will not come to Pokémon Pocket until October 30.
This will be exactly one year since the mobile TCG game was originally released.
However, two other expansions are expected between now and this one-year anniversary release.
According to the game’s most reliable leaker, CRanAYo, this Mega Evolutions expansion will be B1.
This means its release will bring in a whole new set and era for the game.
Judging by every Mega Evolution confirmed for Pokémon Pocket so far, it’s going to be a game-changing expansion.
And with it being the first release of the B set, theories of this expansion featuring three packs are only looking stronger.
This will likely mean that the Mega Evolution expansion will last for seven weeks, just like Genetic Apex did.
Meanwhile, the smaller sets since Space-Time Smackdown have lasted for four or five weeks.
It could potentially mean rotations will be brought into ranked mode where old cards are banned and only set B cards are playable.
However, the release of B1 is expected to be too soon for anything like this to be implemented.
When is the next Pokémon Pocket expansion?
Before Mega Evolutions release in Pokémon Pocket, two more sets are expected: A4a and A4b.
According to leaks, the A4a expansion is coming very soon with a supposed release date of Thursday, August 28th.
No other details of the expansion have yet been confirmed, but many are expecting it to feature only one new pack.
A lot of fans are predicting A4a will bring more Johto cards to follow up on the Wisdom of Sea and Sky update.
Miltank and Igglybuff are the only Generation 2 Pokémon still missing from the game, and many want more Johto EX cards.
And then nothing is known about A4b, although a release date of sometime in September seems like a safe bet.
A Generation 6/Kalos release would make sense to prepare for the Pokémon Legends Z-A release.
That would then nicely set up the inclusion of Mega Evolutions that are coming to Pokémon Pocket in October.
