Ring-a-ding-ding, baby! The poster for the second season is getting fans of the role-playing game series excited for a long-awaited return to New Vegas.
New Vegas is the best Fallout game – fight me! This makes it all the more regrettable that Obsidian has yet to release a sequel, nor has there been an (official) remake or remaster. Nevertheless, we will return to the post-apocalyptic city of sin in 2025 as soon as season 2 of the Fallout series launches on Amazon Prime Video.
What we can expect from season 2 of Fallout
The end of the first season already set the stage for this when Hank MacLean (Kyle MacLachlan) fled through the Mojave Desert – with Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell) and the Ghoul (Walton Goggins) hot on his heels, of course.
Since then, the suspense for New Vegas fans has been almost unbearable, and a whole host of questions have been piling up: How well has the city held up over the years? Who rules the Strip? Are the NCR and Caesar’s Legion still in the game? Will the Courier even make an appearance? And which ending of New Vegas is canon?
We’ll probably only get answers to these questions when Season 2 of Fallout starts in December 2025 – a specific release date has not yet been set.
It’s going to New Vegas, baby!
But at least now we have IGN has shared an exclusive first poster for the upcoming season that has us all thinking about New Vegas.>Ain’t that a Kick in the Head? . The following details can already be seen on it:
- Lucy the Ghoul, Maximus (Aaron Moten) and CX404 are back. For some reason, they seem to be moving away from New Vegas, but that probably just looked cooler for the poster.
- The New Vegas sign looks (almost) exactly like it does in the game. A few minor details are missing, probably due to the post-apocalyptic weather, but otherwise it’s very true to the original.
- Maximus is wearing a bomber jacket that will be familiar to players of Fallout 4. The Steel Brotherhood dresses stylishly, and Maximus has obviously been assigned one too.
Fallout: Season 3 is already on its way
By the way, Fallout has already been officially renewed for a third season. The TV series by Jonathan Nolan, Geneva Robertson-Dworet, and Graham Wagner has definitely struck a chord not only with critics but also with fans.
Season 2 came relatively quickly, especially considering the sometimes lengthy and frustrating release gaps between seasons of current TV series. Fallout premiered in April 2024, and now the second season is coming a little over a year later!
Meanwhile, however, new Fallout games are taking a long time, too long even. You can read about the status of Fallout 5, for example, and what established industry insiders are hoping for, at the links above.
