Kalshi has expanded its operating hours to 24/7, which is big news for esports fans who love to stay up late.
On August 4, 2025, American betting operator Kalshi announced through its official social media that the website will now operate on a 24/7 schedule. This is a major change from its previous schedule of 8 am to 3 am ET. Esports fans may have the most to gain, as international tournaments can often take place during odd hours. The move could also bolster Kalshi’s presence in Asian sports. The new hours will go into effect on August 7, 2025.
Kalshi announced the change via its official Discord. Head of operations Noah Sternig posted about the change late on August 4. He noted that there will still be a few hours of downtime for site maintenance every Thursday.

Kalshi’s 24/7 switch may boost Asian sports market
While the esports and casual gaming prediction markets are affected, Kalshi’s switch to 24/7 may be motivated by the popularity of traditional sports.
The predictions oddsmaker currently offers outright bets for a variety of major esports tournaments, including Worlds 2025 and the Esports World Cup. Kalshi’s unique betting system also offers lines for less common esports events, such as Teamfight Tactics.
In addition to esports outrights, Kalshi users can also bet on a variety of casual gaming outcomes. For example, the site is currently taking bets on the release price of Grand Theft Auto 6. This appeals to casual gaming fans who may only watch the biggest esports events of the year while enjoying casual games on their own time.
While esports fans benefit from this change, Kalshi’s switch is possibly spurred by its heavy involvement with the traditional sports betting market. Seven of the top 10 markets are sports, and baseball alone makes up nearly 20% of the website’s handle. By expanding its hours, it will become easier to bet on sports popular in Asia. Cricket, kabaddi, and AFC soccer could be bumps thanks to American fans interested in those sports.
With the switch to 24/7 availability, Kalshi users will be able to bet on esports tournaments, traditional sports, and video game prices around the clock.
