Apex Legends map, Broken Moon, will be not be included in the Apex Legends Global Series map rotation after the Pro League Qualifiers (PLQ) later this year.
According to the ALGS Year 5 Rulebook, only World’s Edge, Storm Point and E-District are listed for ALGS Pro League Split this year.
A post online also highlights all the maps that will be featured in upcoming events. In PLQ, Pro League Split 2, and Last Chance Qualifier, Broken Moon is not listed in the map pool. Broken Moon appeared in previous tournaments this year, including Split 1 of the Pro League and Challenger Circuit, in addition to the ALGS Open, and Midseason Playoffs at the Esports World Cup.
However, as of the writing of this article, the map pool for the 2026 ALGS Championship has yet to be revealed, which means it could see Broken Moon return.
The Broken Moon Discourse
The map itself has divided opinions online even after its rework in Season 21: Upheaval, which brought several changes to the map POIs, new rotations, and more. In the professional scene, however, many athletes have complained that Broken Moon is currently one of the most unbalanced maps in the game as of Season 25: Prodigy.
Some players online, such as Jack ‘NiceWigg’ Martin, an Apex Legends streamer and former pro, have even gone as far as demanding it be ‘deleted’ from the game entirely.
In a comment online, Mac ‘Albralelie’ Beckwith, professional Apex Legends player for Twisted Minds, added: “POI’s are too stacked on top of each other with blatant unpunishable power positions. For example, Cliffsides’ design makes pushing from south [to] north against anyone with hands completely impossible. There’s a ton of other places on the map that have this exact problem.”
Apex Legends’ meta has wildly shifted, with map rotations becoming the latest change alongside Legend updates. With Broken Moon out of the picture for the time being, it will no doubt affect the esports scene, and could ultimately decide which team takes home the win.
