TYLOO has won its first Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament outside of Asia after winning FISSURE Playground 1.

The Chinese side, currently ranked 20th in the global Valve Regional Standings (VRS), defeated Danish esports organisation Astralis 3-1 in the Grand Final.

The Grand Final wasn’t the first time TYLOO and Astralis faced off at the event. The two sides competed in the group stage with TYLOO’s coach Weijie ‘zhokiNg’ Zhong standing in for Dongkai ‘Jee’ Ji.

Despite the stand-in, the Chinese side defeated Astralis in the group stage before advancing to the semi-finals, at which point Jee re-joined the starting line-up.

TYLOO began the Grand Final on the front foot, but some clutches from Rasmus ‘HooXi’ Nielsen gave Astralis the opening map in the best-of-five series. The Chinese side equalised the series with a dominant 13-4 scoreline on Nuke, demonstrating its impressive firepower against one of Europe’s most established teams.

Mirage went into overtime, but TYLOO continued to hold strong and maintain momentum to take the third map 16-13. The organisation rounded off the series with a 13-10 victory on Ancient to wrap up the series 3-1.

As a result of winning FISSURE Playground 1, TYLOO secured $290,000 (~£215,502) in prize money and valuable VRS points ahead of next month’s ranking update.

What Next For TYLOO?

Following victory at FISSURE Playground 1, the action doesn’t stop for TYLOO. The Chinese side heads to Germany to compete in Intel Extreme Masters (IEM) Cologne, the second LAN event of the current CS2 season.

The Chinese side is one of 24 teams competing at the event, taking place from July 23rd to August 3rd, 2025. For teams like Team Vitality, Team Falcons, and FaZe Clan, the event marks the first one following the BLAST.tv Austin Major.
