Marvel Rivals Ignite is well underway as the Stage 1 Group Stages are coming to a close.

The $3m (£2.2m) Ignite tournament is the first major esports event in the game’s history.

The tournament has been split into two halves, with the Groups deciding who will compete in each region’s Stage 1 Playoffs.

These Playoffs will then determine who will advance from each of the five regions to compete at the $500k (£392k) Mid Season Finals.

Here is every team that will compete in the first-ever Marvel Rivals Ignite Playoffs, excluding China which doesn’t conclude until June 29th.

Marvel Rivals Ignite Stage 1 – EMEA

  • Qualified teams:
    • Zero Tenacity (Group A winners)
    • Virtus.pro (Group B winners)
    • Brr Brr Patapim
    • Rad EU
    • All Business
    • insomnia
    • L9
    • Team Peps

In a surprise to no one, Virtus.pro are still dominating Marvel Rivals in EMEA.

The team were invited for winning the Season 1 Championship and they have also won all 12 European Rivals Fight Nights they have competed in.

Virtus.pro had a surprising loss in the Group B Upper Bracket finals to Rad EU, but then swept through the Lower Bracket to enact their revenge with a 3-0 sweep versus Rad in the final.

As for Group A, it was Zero Tenacity, who were who came out on top in a tight 3-2 victory over Brr Brr Patapim.

Marvel Rivals Ignite Stage 1 – Americas

  • Qualified teams:
    • FlyQuest (Group A winners)
    • Team Nemesis (Group B winners)
    • 100 Thieves
    • Sentinels
    • ENVY
    • SHOUD-X
    • Ego Death
    • tekixd

The Americas were full of surprises as no teams invited from the Season 1 Champiosnhips managed to win their groups.

In Group A, 100 Thieves had been cruising through the Upper Bracket without dropping a game.

Yet, in the final they lost 3-0 to FlyQuest who had to run through the entire Lower Bracket after losing their first series against Ego Death.

Their win is slightly controversial as FlyQuest were criticised for not benching a player who made transphobic comments.

In Group B, Season 1 champions 100 Thieves were undone in a 3-2 reverse sweep by Team Nemesis who qualified through the Open Qualifiers.

It’s been a great month for the UK organisation as Team Nemesis qualified for Dota 2 The International last week.

Marvel Rivals Ignite Stage 1 – Asia

  • Qualified teams:
    • Gen.G (Group A winners)
    • REJECT (Group B winners)
    • dopamine
    • XOXO01
    • Crazy Racoon
    • MVNEsport
    • AssembleFire
    • AlenTiar

Asia had a slightly different format with two single Round-Robin groups rather than a knockout format.

The two strongest teams so far appear to be Gen.G and REJECT who both went undefeated across five series with 10-1 records.

The former is no surpirse considering Gen.G built a Korean Marvel Rivals esports super team.

Though many would have expected the Japanese roster of Crazy Racoon to have performed better.

Marvel Rivals Ignite Stage 1 Oceania champions crowned

  • Stage 2 Qualified teams:
    • Ground Zero Gaming (Champions, Mid Season Finals qualified)
    • The Vicious
    • Kanga Esports
    • Bethany

With fewer teams competing and fewer spots at the Mid Season Finals than other region, Oceania has already finished its Stage 1 competition.

Ground Zero Gaming came through the Open Qualifiers to claim the Oceania title and the chance to represent the region internationally.

They defeated Invitational Oceania champions Kanga Esports 3-1 in the Upper Bracket Final before defeating The Vicious 4-2 in the Grand Final.
